The 10 Principles of Online Communication

Parallel To 10 Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

 1.  MaterialityExpress things that are significant in life.

 2.  Timeliness or RelevanceConsider today’s time.  You are speaking to the people of today. Speak in the context familiar to the contemporary men and women.

 3.  UnderstandabilityBe sure that the least educated will be able to understand what you communicate.

 4. VerifiabilityThe truth of what you say should have a basic grounding.

 5. Completeness or Full Disclosure In communication, you are understood more if what you say is backed up by your feelings.  Express the pros and cons of your opinions.

 6. Going Concern It is necessary to give hope.  The reason for communicating is to be in communion for common good.  Communicate things that advance the “Culture of Life”.

 7. ConservatismPrudence is of great value for all time.  Being progressive doesn’t always mean cutting off from the traditions and breaking boundaries.  Life is not an experiment.

 8. Consistency- Online personality reflects who you are in reality.  A sound mind stands for the same principles of life in every situation.

 9. Objectivity and Comparability“Genuine objectivity is real subjectivity” as Bernard Lonergan, S.J. used to say.  What we stand for has basic pattern of similarities with what others live for.

10. Revenue Recognition Principle- Time is equated in money.  Think of the best gain why you are online.  For me, I am “crafting” something for the next generation. I am a pro-life missionary of social communication.
